Casa de Campo opened at La Romana in the 1970s and has spent fifty years becoming the Caribbean's benchmark residential resort. Roughly 7,000 gated acres hold three Pete Dye golf courses, a deep-water marina, a beach, an equestrian centre, a shooting centre, tennis, restaurants and several thousand private villas.
What separates it from a resort with houses attached is depth of infrastructure. There is professional villa management, staffing, security, an international school nearby and an airport ten minutes from the gate. Owners use their villas for a fortnight and rent them for the rest of the year without being on the island to manage it.

Golf
Three Pete Dye courses. Teeth of the Dog (1971) runs seven holes along the Caribbean and has been ranked the finest course in the Caribbean for decades. Dye Fore offers 27 holes along the Chavón river gorge with dramatic elevation change. The Links is the inland course, used heavily for resort and member play.
The Marina
Marina Casa de Campo is a deep-water marina able to take large yachts, wrapped in a Mediterranean-style village of restaurants, provisioning and shops. It is a working marina, not a decorative one — a common reason buyers choose Casa de Campo over comparable resorts.
Altos de Chavón
A re-created 16th-century Mediterranean village on the cliffs above the Chavón river, built in the 1970s of local stone. It holds a 5,000-seat Grecian amphitheatre, an archaeological museum, galleries, restaurants and a design school affiliated with Parsons. It is the cultural anchor of the resort and one of the most photographed places in the Dominican Republic.
Beach & water
Minitas Beach is the resort's private beach and beach club. Beyond it, Catalina and Saona islands are short boat trips, and the Chavón river runs inland past Altos de Chavón.
Equestrian & shooting
An equestrian centre with polo fields, trail riding and lessons, and a shooting centre covering sporting clays, trap and skeet across wooded terrain. Both are unusual for a Caribbean resort and both operate year-round.
Getting there
La Romana International Airport (LRM) is roughly ten minutes from the gate and takes private jets and scheduled international flights. Punta Cana International (PUJ) is about an hour by road, and Santo Domingo roughly two hours west. For most owners a viewing at Costa Verde 3 is a comfortable day trip from Miami or New York.
Living here year-round

Buying at Casa de Campo
Casa de Campo is the deepest luxury market in the Dominican Republic, with fifty years of transaction history behind it. Within the resort, value concentrates in three things: position, view and the ability to host.
Ocean-front parcels on the Teeth of the Dog sea holes satisfy the first two and almost never come to market. A full events license — which Costa Verde 3 holds — satisfies the third and is rarer still among private villas.
